Top 4 scams - recognize instantly
- "It's closed": Someone says your riad / museum / restaurant is closed and offers to help. It's never closed. Walk away immediately.
- Unsolicited guide: Friendly "student" who shows the way for free - it ends at a relative's shop. Decline all unsolicited medina guides.
- No meter: Taxi driver quotes a high flat rate and refuses the meter. Agree price before entering or find another taxi.
- Henna/snake photo: Placed on your hand or photo taken without asking - then payment demanded. Don't let anyone touch you or take your photo without agreement.
